It’s no secret that designing a small bathroom can be a tricky home improvement project. When working with a lack of square footage, you must be extra savvy when selecting the proper size for fixtures and decorative accents. But thankfully, there is a simple solution for elevating any small bathroom.

It’s cost-effective, easy to install and sunlight friendly. Sounds too good to be true, right? Think again.

The Sun Tunnel skylight is our small but mighty natural-light giver. Adored by many homeowners, Sun Tunnel skylights provide natural light to those often-overlooked spaces, such as hallways and closets, or rooms where a skylight is not able to be installed or is not within budget — namely, the bathroom.

Want to know more? Here are three reasons a Sun Tunnel skylight may be the right choice for your small bathroom.

1. Sun Tunnel skylights are a cost-friendly and quick way to upgrade your bathroom.

Natural light from above makes any bathroom look elevated and luxurious, but a traditional skylight might be out of the bathroom renovation budget for some homeowners. A Sun Tunnel skylight is a great alternative that floods a space with natural light for a fraction of the cost. Plus, you’ll save money on electricity costs, which can help to reduce your home’s carbon footprint.

2. Sun Tunnel skylights brighten windowless bathrooms.

If you have a windowless bathroom, you know how frustrating it is to be without natural light. A Sun Tunnel skylight is the cure for these small, dark spaces.

Interior design and DIY blogger Tasha Agruso of Kaleidoscope Living had two upstairs bathrooms without any direct sources of natural light.

After installing two 10-inch Sun Tunnel skylights in each bathroom, Tasha and her family no longer turn on the lights during the day. These windowless bathrooms were dark and dungeon-like without any natural light. Now, both bathrooms are bright and cheerful. Check out both before-and-after transformations below.

Even bathrooms with small windows or standard-sized windows that face north lack balanced, natural light. DIY expert Brittni Mehlhoff of Paper and Stitch had a bathroom with just one small window, so she installed two Sun Tunnel skylights to give it a natural-light glow-up.

3. Sun Tunnel skylights can be installed even when you have an attic space above.

Sometimes obstructions in the attic, such as ductwork, plumbing pipes or furnaces, prevent traditional skylights from being installed over certain rooms. The reflective tubing of a Sun Tunnel skylight can be installed around most attic obstructions, making them ideal for rooms with attic mechanical systems overhead.
