HGTV® Smart Home 2017
Smart is in Our Nature
We’ve teamed up with HGTV once again to bring even more brilliance to the HGTV Smart Home 2017. Inspired by the beauty of surrounding nature, this year’s home in Scottsdale, AZ is a natural fit for the fresh air, daylight and smart sustainability of VELUX Skylights.
HGTV® Smart Home 2016
Light and Airy Southern Style
Don’t be fooled by its traditional architecture, the HGTV® Smart Home 2016 is packed full of modern technology designed to make life easier. Nestled in a quiet neighborhood north of Raleigh, North Carolina, the 3,300-square-foot home has ample room for a growing family looking to explore everything the Tar Heel state capitol has to offer. Find VELUX skylights in the master suite and covered porch and VELUX SUN TUNNEL skylights in the laundry room and guest bathroom.
HGTV® Smart Home 2015
Sunny Modern Farmhouse
VELUX sponsored the HGTV® Smart Home 2015, a modern farmhouse set in the hip and artsy Zilker Park neighborhood in Austin, Texas. You’ll find seven skylights in the home – three each in the master bedroom and loft and one in the children’s bathroom–a smart and innovative way to bring natural light and fresh air to the home.
Control the skylights and blinds in HGTV® Smart Home 2017 with a tap of the touch screen remote control. Tap to open the skylights–powered by a small solar panel–drawing in fresh air and releasing old, stale air. Don’t worry about summer storms; a rain sensor automatically closes the skylights at the first sign of bad weather. Need to darken the room? Tap to close the solar powered blinds, which give you total control over the light.
The application is spot on; the skylights are well placed. The light’s balanced and they’re smart. The loft is beautiful and the skylights are a big part of that.
Jay Corder Architects
I think the skylights in the HGTV Smart Home 2015 are pretty incredible. I love the hands-free aspect of pushing a button and opening the skylights.
Architecturally it looks really cool and it brings in a lot of light. I also like the fact that it brings in fresh air - that open breeziness - especially up here on the second floor where it would typically be hotter. I think it’s a nice touch.
