The quality of light that you get from a skylight is-- it's more ambient, it's softer, and it does really-- it plays off materials in a way that makes them feel richer.

The kitchen, for instance, it's not that big. So we need it to feel bigger.

We put in a big window, but that wasn't enough.

We need it to feel, like, just more expansive, and adding a skylight that brought in that feeling from above really did make it feel bigger.

So it's not only brighter, but the kitchen feels like it has more space.

It's a very good trick that I hadn't done before, but that now that I see it and how well it's working, I want skylights in every single room.

Like, it really does-- it does make a room feel just bigger and more beautiful.
